UK deal activity
In its regular quarterly commentary on UK private equity investment activity, Corbett Keeling gives a practitioner's view of trends in the number, value and financing of deals.
Books
Statistics reveal the true extend of the downturn suffered by the industry in 2009, as overall deal value drops more than two-thirds to €23bn from the €72bn witnessed in 2008, itself a 60% from 2007's record figure of €187bn. Activity saw a more modest fall of 57% year-on-year from 586 to 253 deals.

While there were a relatively high number of closes, targets were often missed and total capital raised dropped 78% to €23bn.
