
Nordic Capital makes 5x on Permobil exit to Investor AB
Nordic Capital Fund V has agreed to sell Permobil,a Swedish rehabilitation power wheelchairs company to Investor AB for €655m.
Nordic Capital reaped 5x on its original investment.
The transaction is valued at SEK 5.5bn, of which SEK 5.1bn consists of cash and SEK 400m in a performance-based potential future earn-out payment. The acquisition is subject to approval by the competition authorities.
Under Nordic Capital's ownership, Permobil has been transformed from a Swedish family run business into a global company providing advanced power wheelchairs.
Since Nordic Capital acquired Permobil in 2006, the company has nearly doubled its sales.
The new owner will enable Permobil to continue to take advantage of its position in this market.

Per Uddén founded Permobil in 1963. The company is a provider of wheelchairs, seating options, accessories and operating systems.
Headquartered in Timrå, Sweden, Permobil operates across four continents and employs approximately 700 people. In 2012, the group generated revenues of approximately €190m.
