
Gimv backs XL Video with €19m
Gimv has invested €19m in technology company XL Video in return for a 47% stake.
The investment was made through the €609m Gimv-XL fund. The management and other investors will hold the remaining shares.
Gimv was convinced by the company's flexibility, quality and technical know-how. The capital will be used to further professionalise the business in order to enable internal and external growth.

XL Video is headquartered in Ostend, Belgium, with offices in Ghent, the US, the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and China. Established in 1996, the company is a specialist in video technology rental and currently employs about 200 people. The firm provides state-of the-art video technology such as video screens for concert tours, trade fairs, sports and other events. In 2010, the company had a turnover of €71m.
