Abris Capital buys Cargus
The Romanian division of Abris Capital has bought Romanian parcel service company Cargus from Deutsche Post (DHL).
The investor took over the company's client base, employees and operation bases as well as all domestic courier operations in Romania, while DHL Express Romania will focus on international parcel services.
The two companies entered a supplier partnership under which Cargus will continue to offer DHL Express international services via the Cargus sales and retail network.
This was the GP's first investment in Romania. Abris previously bought Polish parcel services company Siodemka in 2011 and plans to create synergies between the two businesses. Cargus plans to expand and modernize its fleet and to offer an improved B2C product through its newly-gained tracking capability.
Company
Cargus is a parcel service company set up in Bucharest in 1991. It was acquired by DHL in 1998.
