
DST Global and Kinnevik increase investment in Zalando
Russian investor DST Global and Swedish Kinnevik have increased their stake in German online retailer Zalando.
The capital increase translates to approximately 5% of the firm's equity split between DST and Kinnevik.
DST had acquired a 4% stake in Zalando in February.
Other investors in Zalando include Rocket Internet, Holtzbrinck Ventures and Tengelman Ventures.
Company
Zalando is a Berlin-based online retailer for apparel and shoes. It was founded by Robert Gentz and David Schneider in 2008.
The company began it's expansion in 2009 in Austria, followed by the Netherlands and France in 2010. In 2011, the firm moved into the British and Swiss online markets.
In 2010, Zalando's revenue amounted to €160m. In Q1 and Q2 of 2011, its revenue increased to €200m.
