
Kreos Capital injects €5m into Spotcap
Kreos Capital has invested €5m in Berlin-based online credit platform Spotcap’s series-B funding round.
The fresh capital will be used to finance the company's lending activities in Spain and the Netherlands, and to expand its operations globally. The company stated it would target at least three additional markets in 2015.
Previous funding
Holtzbrinck Ventures participated in a €13m series-A funding round for Spotcap in October last year. Access Industries, a privately held industrial group, and Rocket Internet also took part in the round.
Company
Founded in August 2014, Spotcap is an online loan platform launched by Berlin-based start-up accelerator Rocket Internet. It claims to offer loans of €500–50,000 in less than five minutes using its own credit-scoring technology.
The platform was launched in Madrid in September 2014, and in the Netherlands earlier this year. Spotcap has around 50 employees.
