AXA PE backs SynerLAB build up
AXA Private Equity has supported its portfolio company The SynerLAB Group in the acquisition of Pharmaster, a third party manufacturer in sterile, liquid preservative-free forms.
Nicole Martin-Spittler, the majority shareholder and chairman of Pharmaster, will become a shareholder in SynerLAB following the deal. The acquisition of Pharmaster is the firms third build-up operation after the purchased of BTT and Sophartex laboratories.
SynerLAB Group, founded in 2001, is specilaised in the preservative-free sterile solutions sector. The firm manufactures and provides customised packaging for medication in dry and liquid form. SynerLAB has 650 employees and recorded a turnover of around €85m.
In summer 2007, AXA Private Equity has acquired a majority stake in the secondary buyout of pharmaceutical subcontractor Synerlab from an anonymous private equity firm. Natixis underwrote an all-senior debt package comprising A-,B- and C-tranches.
