Duke Street merges EduServices with IPAC
Duke Street-backed EduServices has acquired French post-secondary education provider IPAC for an undisclosed amount.
Duke Street invested in EduServices - formed by the acquisition and merger of La Compagnie de Formation-Chézy and Forteam - in July last year. The merger with IPAC forms part of Duke Street's and EduServices's strategy to become a leading player and consolidator in the highly fragmented private post-secondary education (PPSE) market in France.
According to Duke Street, the French PPSE sector is a €2bn market with attractive growth characteristics. Its fragmented nature presents EduServices with several other acquisition opportunities.
Founded in 1984, IPAC annually enrolls around 1,500 French students into full-time study and 1,600 foreign students into part-time study, with an overall yearly budget of €10m. Based in Annecy, IPAC recently opened two branches in the Savoie region. In 2006, the company established a branch in Geneva, which has attracted nearly 200 students.
