
Industries et Finances buys Gesop from BNP Paribas
Industries et Finances Partenaires has wholly acquired French firebreak solutions firm Gesop from BNP Paribas Développement in a management buyout.
The transaction is the first completed through the GP's third fund, Industrie et Finance Investissements III, which held a first close in 2012 on €60m. The vehicle has a €125m target.
The new owner will implement a buy-and-build growth strategy for the firm.
Debt
BNP Paribas, Banque Populaire and Société Générale provided a senior debt package to support the transaction.
Previous funding
BNP Paribas Développement acquired a 33% stake in the firm in 2011 via a leveraged buyout.
Company
Founded in 1987 and based in Saint-Germain en Laye, Gesop develops firebreak systems. The company's technology is primarily focused on fire-proof closing systems and smoke ventilation equipment. Its customer base includes companies in distribution, industry, construction and the public sector and is mainly found in the Paris area.
The firm has a turnover of around €12m.
