Alven leads $2m round for Wheretoget
Alven Capital has led a $2m round for Paris-based online fashion community Wheretoget, with angel investors also taking part in the round.
Following the injection of capital, the company will introduce an iPad version of its product and expand the service into new countries. It will also open a new office in New York, intended to help develop relationships with American fashion brands.
Alven stated that it was attracted by Wheretoget's record of strong growth across multiple countries, despite limited resources.
Earlier this month, the VC joined Index Ventures in a €6m round for portfolio company Drivy, a Paris-based peer-to-peer car rental service.
Company
Based in Paris and founded in 2011, Wheretoget is an online crowdsourced platform that allows its users to find retailers of fashion items uploaded to the community. The majority of its 2.2 million users come from the US and it currently generates sales for 10,000 online shops.
People
Romain Moyne is CEO and co-founder of Wheretoget. Aurélien Appéré also co-founded the company and is its CTO. Jeremy Uzan, a partner at Alven Capital, led the deal.
