
21 Centrale-backed Vacalians bolts on Canvas and CIAT assets
21 Centrale Partners-backed Vacalians Group, a French campsite operator, has acquired UK-based Canvas Holidays and the Italian assets of Compagnie Internationale André Trigano (CIAT).
The move forms part of the business's international buy-and-build strategy, bringing its total number of campsites to 44 across France, Spain, Italy and Croatia. Vacalians now also owns 23,500 camping spots in 260 locations in Europe, of which 17,500 are occupied by its mobile homes.
The assets acquired from CIAT include 300 mobile homes across five campsites in Italy.
The GP founded Vacalians through the merger of Vacances Directes and Village Center, which it acquired in January 2012 and August 2012, respectively. The business generated revenues of €115m in 2014.
