Doughty Hanson has announced that Mark Florman is joining the firm as senior principal to take responsibility for its Nordic activities. Florman has significant experience in the Nordic region, having served as chief operating officer of ArosMaizels Corporate Finance, and as co-chief executive of its predecessor MNB Maizels. He moved from Enskilda Securities in 1992 to found the M&A, restructuring and structured finance firm Maizels, Westerberg & Co, with offices in London and Stockholm. The company emerged as one of the market leaders in Nordic M&A during the 1990s, and in both 1998 and 1999 topped the European league tables for independent M&A houses. The firm subsequently merged with the Swedish and Finnish corporate finance activities of Nordea in 1999 to form MNB Maizels. Since 1982, Mark Florman has completed over 200 transactions in the Nordic markets. Neil Doughty commented: “We are very pleased to have Mark Florman on board. This reinforces our commitment to the Nordic markets, which are particularly important to us for future fundraising efforts while we also intend to continue our long history of successful investment in Europe.â€
