
HIG kicks off Nordic activity with Freedom Finance buyout
HIG Europe has completed its first investment in the Nordic region with the acquisition of consumer loan broker Freedom Finance Nordic.
The buyer hopes to grow Freedom Finance to offer a full online price comparison service that covers a range of products from personal loans and insurance to utilities.
The fresh funding will be channelled into growing the company's systems and team.
Company
Founded in 2003 and based in Ängelholm, Freedom Finance is a consumer loan broker. The company's online platform and database bring together more than 20 of the largest banks and mortgage companies, helping users compare and select loan products.
The firm has completed more than 1.5 million loan applications for customers in Sweden, Norway and Finland.
Freedom Finance employs 165 staff in Ängelholm, Bergen and Espoo, the majority of which are professional loan officers.
