
Sponsor Capital backs Espotel
Sponsor Capital Oy and Espotel’s management have wholly acquired Espotel Oy, a Finnish provider of R&D services for embedded systems development.
The sellers include Espotel founders Pertti Kauppinen, Tapio Uimonen and Ilkka Korhonen, as well as the company's minority shareholders. The founders will retain a stake in Espotel following the transaction.
A management succession will take place in connection with the transaction. Espotel seeks to expand internationally within the coming years.

Founded in 1986, Espotel provides professional services for the development of embedded systems. The company has six business facilities in Finland and one in Poland. Its turnover totalled €26m in 2012. Espotel has 278 employees.
People
Juhani Kalliovaara is a partner at Sponsor Capital. Kari Liuska is the new CEO of Espotel. Pertti Kauppinen is the founder and former CEO of Espotel.
