
Intel Capital leads $20m round for SkySQL
Intel Capital has led a $20m series-B round for SkySQL.
The round included investments from existing backers Finnish Industry Investment, Spintop Ventures and Open Ocean Capital. California Technology Ventures also joined the firm's shareholding.
SkySQL received $4m in series-A funding in April 2012 from Finnish Industry Investment, Spintop and Open Ocean, according to unquote" data.
Company
Founded in 2010, the company has developed open-source software that offers affordable database solutions for MySQL and MariaDB databases in the enterprise and the cloud. Google is migrating to the database, which already includes Wikipedia among its users.
