Verdane exits Bythjul in trade sale
Secondaries direct specialist Verdane has sold Swedish online auto parts business Bythjul to French trade player Mobivia Groupe.
Verdane acquired its stake in Bythjul in 2005 via its Verdane V vehicle, a SEK 1.1bn fund that closed that same year.
The GP stated that during this seven-year ownership period, Bythjul saw its revenues increase fivefold while headcount rose from eight to 25. According to Verdane, this growth was based on internationalisation, with Bythjul expanding from purely Swedish operations to Finland, Denmark and Norway.
France-based Mobivia offers multi-brand vehicle maintenance and equipment. It operates through the Norauto, Auto 5, Midas, Carter-Cash, Synchro Diffusion and Oxyo-pneus.fr brands.
Company
Founded in 2002, Bythjul sells automotive tyres and rims online. It offers products from brands including Michelin, Pirelli, Goodyear, Continental, SVF, Ace and Enzo. Headquartered in Stockholm, the business generates turnover of around SEK 200m.
People
Pål Malmros worked on the deal for Verdane. Torkel Hallander is CEO and partner at Bythjul.
