
Truecaller raises $60m series-C from Sequoia et al.
Swedish crowdsourced phone directory business Truecaller has raised $60m from investors including Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB).
Atomico, an investment company launched by Skype-founder Niklas Zennström, also participated in the round.
KPCB's Hohn Doerr, Atomico's Mattias Ljungman, and Jerry Murdock of Insight Venture Partners – who also participated in the funding round – will join Truecaller's board, while Niklas Zennström has been appointed as a special adviser.
According to reports, the series-C valued the Stockholm-based company at $300m.
Previous funding
This latest funding round brings the total capital raised by Truecaller to $80.1m, having closed an $18.8m series-B in February this year.
The company completed its first investment round in September 2012, receiving $1.3m from Open Ocean.

Founded in 2009, Truecaller is a crowdsourced yellow pages.
The business offers a caller ID app that allows users to expand their contact lists and more easily identify who is calling their mobile phone.
Users allow Truecaller access to their list of contacts, and in return will use the consolidated contacts of all the app's users to identify incoming calls, as well as numbers that have been flagged as spammers by the community.
Founded in 2009 and based in Stockholm, the company boasts 85 million users across the world, including India, the Middle East, Africa and South America.
According to publicly available information, Truecaller had revenues of SEK 10m last year, making a loss of SEK 17m.

Niklas Zennström is the CEO and co-founder of Atomico, and worked on the deal alongside managing partner and co-founder Mattias Ljungman. John Doerr is a partner at KPCB, while Jerry Murdock is the co-founder and CEO of Insight. Alan Mamedi is the co-founder and CEO of Truecaller.
