Sator and Palladio table third offer for Fondiaria
Italian private equity houses Sator and Palladio have made a third offer for troubled insurer Fondiaria.
The latest offer, which follows the rejection of their previous bid, is valid until 10 August 2012.
The bid rivals plans for a merger with Italian financial services provider Unipol, which would create a company large enough to compete with insurance giant Generali in the Italian market.
Sator and Palladio initially made a bid for the company in February, which ran aground due to debt restructuring issues and penalty clauses in an earlier bid from Unipol.
