
Xenon closes fifth fund on hard cap

Xenon Private Equity has held the final close of its fifth fund, Xenon V, at its hard cap of EUR150m. The fund, which started fundraising in late November 2008 with a target of EUR130m, was substantially oversubscribed. SJ Berwin advised on the legal structure of the fund.
Investors
Xenon V attracted a mix of international investors including funds-of-funds, insurance companies and pension funds worldwide. Contributors comprised Finnish Pohjola Insurance Group, German NordKB, UK investors LCF Rothschild and Essex County, and from the US, Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Trust and Indiana State Teachers Retirement Fund.
Investments
Xenon V will focus on investments in companies with an enterprise value between EUR20-50m. Xenon V expects to make 12-15 investments with an equity ticket between EUR7-10m.

Xenon Private Equity was founded by a team comprising six senior partners with a long experience in the industry: Danilo Mangano, Alberto Castelli, Riccardo Bosco, Franco Prestigiacomo, Giorgio Pastorelli and Stefano Calabro.
