
Principia backs 4W Marketplace with €2.5m
Italian VC Principia has injected €2.5m into online advertising network 4W MarketPlace.
The fresh capital will underpin the strengthening of the company's proprietary technological platform and the development of its internet advertising models.
Principia operates in the Italian VC sector, with a particular focus on investments in the south of the country. The firm invests from two funds, Principia Fund and Principia II, which closed on €25m and €63.1m respectively. The investment in 4W MarketPlace was completed through Principia II.

Founded in 2009 and based in Fisciano, 4W MarketPlace is an advertising network that offers advertising formats for online, social network and mobile advertising. In 2011, the company was the first in Italy to be certified by Facebook as an advertising provider, allowing the company to sell advertising on the social network.
4W MarketPlace has an exclusive agreement with a publishing consortium to manage the advertising spaces of key online newspapers in Italy. The start-up is incubated at Digital Magics in Salerno.
