
Emisys Capital launches in Italy with €150m fund
New investor Emisys Capital has launched in Italy and simultaneously announced the first closing of its maiden vehicle on €131m.
Emisys will make hybrid investments combining equity and debt in Italian SMEs to fund growth and international expansion.
The vehicle, Emisys Development, has a €150m target.
Investors
Fondo Italiano di Investimento and the European Investment Fund have each committed €30m to the fund.
Financial group Gruppo Fineurop and IMI Investimenti, the investment arm of Intesa Sanpaolo, have also committed to the vehicle, alongside family offices and private investors.
Investments
The vehicle will support the development of Italian SMEs across several sectors. It will make both debt and equity investments.
People
Edoardo Professione is a founding partner of Emisys and a former managing director of mezzanine finance firm AF Mezzanine. He is joined at the Emisys helm by Philippe Minard and Andrea Cappuccio, CEO and CIO respectively of mid-market mezzanine investor Mezzanove Capital .
