Gresham London chief Henebery leaves firm
Gresham's London head Mike Henebery has left the firm "and will be taking a break before deciding what route his career will take in future" according to a statement.
Henebery was with Gresham for nine years, having joined from Montagu Private Equity. Prior to that he spent five years in corporate finance at Investec and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Gresham, which focuses on buyouts up to £100m in the UK, had a very busy November and December 2007: it did four deals in those two months alone; set up its energy and environment team; recouped 4x money on the sale of Warings; and named James Slipper an investment partner.
At the beginning of 2008, the firm sold Giles to Charterhouse for £185m. Its last deal took place in April 2008 out of their Birmingham office: the £82.5m buyout of Johnson Clothing, itself an amalgam of five brands (one of which Gresham had initially backed in 2000). Last June, Gresham appointed Dan Hatcher as investment partner.
Gresham has offices in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
