Langholm Capital puts Tyrrells up for sale
Private equity firm Langholm Capital has put crisps brand Tyrrells up for sale, according to a source close to the situation.
A valuation of around £100m is being sought for the company, the source confirmed.
The GP is reported to have mandated McQueens to find a buyer for the firm, with both global food companies and private equity players expected to bid for the asset.
First-round offers for the firm are due next month.
Langholm acquired the company in 2008, with the owner and founder retaining a significant stake in the company. The business reported sales of more than £13m in the year ending March 2008.
Tyrrells was founded in 2002 and operates in more than 20 countries.
Langholm declined to comment.
