LDC-backed A-Gas acquires SA Rural
LDC portfolio company A-Gas International has acquired Australian fumigation products company SA Rural Agencies.
The transaction was funded from the Bristol-based company's existing balance sheet.
The acquisition is the company's second in recent weeks, following the purchase of Australia-based refrigerant re-packer Technochem.
The transaction is part of the company's acquisitive growth strategy, drawn up when LDC invested £70m in a tertiary buyout from Growth Capital Partners in April 2011. It will expand the firm's presence in Australia and its service offering.
Following the acquisition, A-Gas now employs 158 members of staff and is present in the UK, Australia and South Africa.
Company
Founded in 1984 and based in Adelaide, SA Rural supplies pest management and fumigation products and services to the agricultural and grain industries in Australia. The firm employs around 10 members of staff.
