NVM supports CBio MBO
NVM Private Equity has invested £3m in the £4.4m management buyout of environmentally-friendly waste treatment business Cleveland Biotech (CBio).
According to NVM, thanks to more stringent enforcement of rules by water companies and the Environment Agency, CBio is well-placed to take advantage of increased demand in this immature market.
Furthermore, CBio has recently doubled its European exports following several large orders from Lithuania for its UK patented pro-biotic cleaning products, which are used in multi-surface and toilet cleaners.
NVM believes there is a strong likelihood of environmentally-friendly products replacing traditional cleaning products across the Baltic region.
Company
Based in Stockton-on-Tees, CBio initially provided nitrifying bacteria to water treatment plants when it was first established in 1992. Today, the company develops fermented bacteria for use in a range of biological products, which naturally erode organic pollutants including grease, fat, oil, diesel, uric acid and limescale.
CBio targets food, oil and grease management and typical customers include supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, pubs and local authorities.
People
CBio is led by managing director Ben Hoskyns and development director Tony Brooke. Mauro Biagioni is a director at NVM.
