
Notion Capital et al. back Rockabox
Notion Capital, Frog Capital and fourteen17 have invested £3m in a series-A funding round for Rockabox, a UK-based video advertising platform developer.
New investor Notion Capital led the round, which also saw existing backers Frog and angel investor fourteen17 contribute capital.
The fresh funding will be used by Rockabox to further develop its platform and enter new markets.
According to the company, video is expected to account for a 14.5% share of the $100bn digital advertising market by 2016. Rockabox also states that the online video advertising market in Europe grew by 50.7% in 2012.
Previous funding
Frog injected capital into Rockabox in October 2010. The firm had previously worked with one of Rockabox's founders, which made Frog confident of the company's success.

Founded in 2008, Rockabox is headquartered in London. The company has developed a software-as-a-service video advertising platform designed to engage consumers with video content for brands.
Rockabox's Shutters technology is an HTML5 content media format, designed to enable brands to synchronise video content with brand messaging, e-commerce functions and interactive features. Clients include Diesel, Honda, Estée Lauder and House of Fraser.
People
Rockabox was founded by group CEO James Booth and content division CEO Torie Chilcott. The company's board of directors includes Notion partner Jos White; Frog managing director Mike Reid; Frog principal Joe Krancki; and fourteen17 co-founder and chairman Richard Hill.
