Palamon ups investment in QualitySolicitors
Palamon Capital Partners has provided its portfolio company QualitySolicitors, a UK-based high-street legal brand, with additional funding more than two years after its acquisition.
The firm supplied the funding via European Equity II, a €670m fund that closed €20m above its target in July 2006. European Equity II is the same fund that was used to acquire the business in October 2011.
The amount provided is yet to be disclosed, but is described as a large investment by QualitySolicitors and is believed to be several million pounds, according to reports.
The capital injection is being provided to aid QualitySolicitors in bolstering its research and development activities, as well as help the firm expand its network with the addition of new law firms to the brand.
The company will also begin looking at potential bolt-ons within the legal services sector. In addition, QualitySolicitors will look to expand on the success of its autumn campaign, which it claims led to an 80% increase in new business leads and a 40% uplift on visits to its site. To capitalise on that success, the firm will continue with its marketing efforts throughout the first quarter of this year and strengthen its PR strategy.
Palamon acquired a majority stake in QualitySolicitors in an all-equity transaction in 2011, according to unquote" data. The deal was worth more than £10m.
