
Carlyle- and Palamon-backed IDH acquires The Dental Directory
Integrated Dental Holdings (IDH), backed by Carlyle and Palamon Capital Partners, has acquired dental products and services supplier The Dental Directory.
The acquisition was designed to allow IDH to strengthen its integrated consumables and service support structure in the UK. The company stated it was attracted by The Dental Directory's management team, which will continue its role in the business, as well as its performance and focus on customer service.
Carlyle acquired IDH from Bank of America Merrill Lynch Capital Partners and merged it with Palamon-backed Associated Dental Practices in January 2011.
The Dental Directory stated it had gone ahead with the acquisition by IDH to enable it to compete financially with multinational rivals.

Based in Witham, The Dental Directory provides dental products and services to UK practices. It was founded in 1971 and employs 300 people across four locations.
