
Mobeus sells Monsal to GE
Mobeus Equity Partners has sold biogas energy business Monsal to General Electric (GE), generating a 1.9x return.
Previous funding
Mobeus first backed Monsal in December 2007, investing £3m to support its management buyout in return for a minority stake.
In July 2010, FourWinds Capital Management injected £14m into the company to support new projects.
Company
Mansfield-based Monsal is an advanced anaerobic digestion (AAD) and integrated biogas-to-energy business. It provides technology for AAD infrastructure in the water and waste sectors, enabling companies to turn waste into renewable energy.
The company was established in 1996.
