FRANCE - PAI increases share in Atos Origin to 18%
PAI partners has acquired a 17.9% stake in computer services company Atos Origin, becoming the largest single shareholder ahead of active investors Pardus and Centaurus Capital, which collectively own 23%. PAI purchased around 5 million shares at a price of EUR 39 per share via broker Exane BNP Paribas.
In the medium term PAI aim to assist Atos with the transformation plan put forward by the management. PAI also stated it would not be seeking to take control of the company or act in concert with a third party, though it doesn’t rule out purchasing further shares depending on the market conditions. The private equity house will seek representation on the company’s board.
PAI was a founding shareholder of Atos around two decades ago when it was created from the merger of Axime and Sligos, holding 100% of the company until its listing. PAI also oversaw Atos’s merger with Origin.
