UK - Lovells boosts private equity team in London

Lovells has continued its programme of strengthening its London private equity capability with the recruitment into the partnership of DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Carey partner Tom Whelan and Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson senior associate Stephanie Keen. The appointments follow the recent recruitment of Alan Greenough from White & Case as head of private equity for Lovells.

Whelan started his career at Ashurst in 1991 before moving to DLA as a partner in 2002. He has substantial experience of advising institutions, management, banks, mezzanine providers and investee companies on all types of private equity investments. His recent experience includes advising 3i on its sale of Pets at Home and advising Blackstone on their £750m sale of the Savoy Group. Keen also started her career with Ashurst, joining in 1996 before moving to Fried Frank in 2004 as part of its cross-border private equity team, also handling public company M&A work. Her recent experience includes advising Cinven and Permira on their EUR 500m investment in Koninklijke Vendex following its acquisition by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.
