
POLAND - Mid Europa completes Aster buyout
Mid Europa Partners, through its Emerging Europe Convergence Fund II, L.P., has completed the acquisition of Aster, a leading provider of media and communication services in Poland. The agreement to acquire Aster from Hicks Muse Tate & Furst was first announced in December 2005.
Goldman Sachs International acted as exclusive financial adviser to Hicks Muse Tate & Furst in connection with the transaction.
Credit Suisse First Boston (Europe) Ltd has acted as financial adviser to Mid Europa Partners in connection with the acquisition and Credit Suisse First Boston International has provided a financing commitment to Mid Europa Partners in connection with the acquisition.
Aster is the fourth largest cable TV operator and largest broadband provider in Poland with over 350,000 cable TV subscribers. The company provides analogue and premium digital cable TV services as well as broadband internet and telephony services. The company's network, which is largely return-path upgraded passes over 725,000 homes located in Warsaw, Krakow and Zielona Gora.
