
FRANCE - 123 Venture backs balloon manufacturer
123 Venture has invested EUR 2.4m into Aerophile, a tethered gas balloon manufacturer, distributor and operator.
Aerophile was founded in 1993 by Matthieu Gobbi and Jerome Giacomoni. The company has three main products: AERO30NG, a large tethered balloon that can lift 30 passengers up to 500 feet every 10 minutes; AERO2, a mobile balloon designed for two passengers; and AEROPHARE, a balloon which can fly up to 130 feet with 12 passengers and in up to 50 mph of wind. The company sells its balloons in around 20 countries. Aerophile is based in Paris and employs 30 staff.
