NORDIC - EQT Infrastructure acquires Swedegas
Sweden-based private equity investor EQT has, via its Infrastructure Fund, acquired Swedegas from EON Ruhrgas, Statoil, DONG Energy and Fortum.
The network from Dragør is the only interconnection of Sweden with Denmark and the extended European gas transmission network. For this reason, EQT believes the company can become a player in the development of Swedish biogas production.
Swedegas is regulated by the Swedish Energy Markets Inspectorate and holds government concessions for its network.
The Swedegas acquisition is EQT's first infrastructure investment in Sweden, and the third investment from the specialist fund. The deal had debt to equity ratio of 50/50, with Nordea and Enskilda providing the debt package. Nordea Corporate Finance provided financial advice, and Vinge was the legal advisor.
