
Carlyle back in the black
The Carlyle Group reported net income of $219m in Q3, returning to profit after last year's loss of $191m.
The third quarter also saw $5.1bn of carry fund realisations, increasing the amount of year-to-date realisations to $11.9bn. Distributable earnings per share amount to $0.63 per common unit.
The group raised $3.4bn of new capital in the period from August to October 2012. This week, Carlyle announced the close of its latest North America-focused mid-market buyout fund, Carlyle Equity Opportunity Fund, on $1.1bn.
Carlyle is listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the ticker symbol CG. The company has a market cap of $7.7bn.
