Glennmont secures €50m from EIB
BNP Paribas private equity spinout Glennmont has received €50m from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The investment highlights the EIB's commitment to clean energy, as it works to support the European Union's target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 20% over the next six years. In 2012, the EIB invested €3.3bn in clean energy.
The commitment sees Glennmont's second clean energy fund reaching €250m. The spinout held a first close on €200m in August this year and is targeting €400m.
Glennmont launched its first vehicle in 2009, known at the time as BNP Paribas Clean Energy Partners, and raised €437m in 18 months.
