
Highland Europe closes maiden fund on hard-cap of €250m
Highland Capital Partners Europe has held a final close for its maiden fund, Highland Europe, on its hard-cap of €250m.
The fund reached a first close in November 2012, around six months after it was initially announced. The vehicle had an original target of €200m.
Highland Europe did not use a placement agent for the fund.
Investors
The fund is supported by university endowments, pension funds, family offices and foundations.
Investments
Highland Europe provides capital of between €10-25m to internet and software businesses. It focuses exclusively on growth-stage companies.
The fund has already invested in nine companies, most recently leading a $22m round for UK-based social media monitoring company Brandwatch. It also led a €23.5m capital injection into AMCS Group in January.

Highland Europe is run by Fergal Mullen, Irena Goldenberg, Laurence Garrett, Sam Brooks and Tony Zappalà.
