
3i takes minority stake in Refresco in €84m deal
3i has taken a 20% stake in Dutch beverage manufacturer Refresco in an expansion deal valued at €84m.
The existing shareholders, an Icelandic consortium of investors led by Stodir, and the management of Refresco, retain their stakes in the business. .
Based in Dordrecht, Refresco is building a European platform of manufacturers of fruit juices and soft drinks. Founded in 2000, the company has 19 production facilities across eight European countries, employing some 2,200 people. The company reported a €1.2bn turnover last year. The capital injection will be used to further grow Refresco.
