
Mid Europa buys Alpha Medical from Penta
Mid Europa Partners has wholly acquired laboratory diagnostics provider Alpha Medical from Penta Investments.
The investment is in line with Mid Europa's consolidation strategy for the laboratory market in Central Europe. In February 2011, the GP acquired a majority stake in Polish laboratory services provider Diagnostyka via Mid Europa Fund III. Later that year, the GP continued this strategy with the acquisition of Teresa Fryda Laboratory.
Previous funding
Penta acquired the firm in 2006.

Alpha Medical is a laboratory diagnostics provider in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland. The firm has a network of around 43 laboratories and performs more than 30 million laboratory tests each year.
Alpha Medical is based in Bratislava and employs more than 820 staff.
