eCapital holds final closing of third fund
Venture capital firm eCapital has announced the final closing of its third fund eCapital III Cleantech Fonds at €50m.
Cornerstone investor is Dr Paul Grunow, co-founder of Solon and Q. Cells, a number of German family offices as well as German institutional investors. Insurance company LVM Versicherungen invested with two of its funds.
The fund holds already five investments including Novaled AG, eZelleron GmbH, Feranova GmbH and Heliatek GmbH. eCapital is planning to make about 15 investments in the cleantech sector including companies in the fields of water, energy, new materials and transport. Investments will be made in companies in the later and early stage phase based in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with average funding of between €0.5-2.5m.
