Heliad appoints Thomas Hanke as CEO
Listed GP Heliad Equity Partners has appointed Thomas Hanke as new CEO and Gunter Greiner as investment director.
Hanke takes up his new role with immediate effect. He was part of the Heliad team until 2015 and then joined Heliad portfolio company FinTech Group as head of business development and investments. Hanke was an investment manager at German investor FinLab from 2010 until 2015.
Current managing director Stefan Feulner will leave Heliad at the beginning of May after three years with the firm.
Gunter Greiner was promoted to investment director. He has around 15 years' experience in the fields of technology, growth and restructuring investments both in private and listed companies. His previous role at Heliad was senior portfolio manager. Earlier in his career, he worked at KST's portfolio management team for eight years, focusing on small-cap deals and renewable energies.
Heliad focuses on investments in German corporates that are facing special situations, but it also participates in VC funding rounds. In March 2016, it backed German pet food online shop ePetWorld's €5m round, alongside Mountain Partners, Venture Stars and family offices.
