
Bright Capital Digital backs Auctionata
Bright Capital Digital, an affiliate of Russian VC firm Bright Capital, has invested in German online auction site Auctionata, a portfolio company of Holtzbrinck Ventures and eVentures.
The investment – reported to be worth around $2.5m – follows previous financing by the venture firms and private investors and brings the total amount invested to $17.5m. Auctionata provides all employees with the option of acquiring shares through its Employee Stock Option Program.
Company
Established in Berlin in 2011, Auctionata is an e-commerce company for art, antiques, collectibles and vintage luxury goods. The company combines a traditional auction house and a curated online shop with a global audience of buyers. Auctionata employs 70 permanent staff in its offices in Berlin and New York.
