
DBAG backs MBO of Formel D GmbH
Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG) has invested in the management buyout of German support services company Formel D GmbH.
The equity was sourced from DBAG Fund V. The GP also invested £10.4m from its balance sheet, acquiring 15% of Formel D. The remaining stake will be held by the fund and the company's management.

Formel D is a German support services company based in Munich. It provides quality assurance, retooling and post-processing services to automobile manufacturers and their suppliers. Founded in 1993, Formel D operates in 64 different locations, 21 of which are in Germany.

Rolf Scheffels led the deal on behalf of DBAG. Viola Metzner and Hans-Josef Orth are Formel D's founders and represent the selling party. Maurizio Carroccia represented the management team.
