
EQT backs Swiss Smile
EQT has invested CHF 44m in a later stage growth funding situation involving Switzerland-based dental chain Swiss Smile.
EQT entered into a partnership agreement with founders and majority owners Haleh and Golnar Abivardi. The existing minority shareholders have been bought out as part of the deal.
The fresh capital will be used for developing the exisiting business and for expansion in Switzerland, mainly through acquiring specialised clinics.

Founded in 2002 by dentists Haleh and Golnar Abivardi, Swiss Smile operates several clinics in Switzerland and has franchises or joint ventures in the UK, Russia and India.
The company has a 28% market share in the Swiss dental chain sector. In addition, Swiss Smile has its own cosmetics products range as part of a joint venture.

Stanley Brodén is an industrial adviser at EQT and designated vice chairman of the Swiss Smile board of directors. Haleh and Golnar Abivardi are joint CEOs of Swiss Smile.
