
AEA Investors buys Siemens' water technology division
AEA Investors has acquired the Siemens subsidiary Business Unit Siemens Water Technologies (BUSWT) for €640m.
BUSWT was put up for sale in December last year. Siemens was looking to divest the division in order to concentrate its water-related activities on automation and drive solutions for the operation of water and sewage treatment plants, as well as seawater desalination plants.
In October this year, AEA was reported to have placed a bid of $800m for the Siemens water technology unit.

BUSWT offers solutions for the treatment and processing of water and wastewater.
The firm has offices in Erlangen, Germany; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Singapore; Bayswater, Australia; and Beijing, China. However, the majority of its business activities are focused on North America, with headquarters in Alpharetta.
