Astorius holds first close for second fund
Astorius Capital has held a first close for its second fund-of-funds, targeting €30m.
Astorius Capital PE Fund II launched in November 2014 and aims to achieve its target of €30m in summer 2015.
Astorius's first fund closed in September last year on €11m, investing equal amounts in Oslo-based Herkules Capital and London-headquartered CapVest.
Investors
High-net-worth individuals, family offices and small institutional investors committed at least €200,000 each to the fund.
Astorius partners also contribute significantly to their own funds, having committed more than €700,000 to the first vehicle.
Investments
Astorius is targeting private equity funds with a focus on Mittelstand companies.
In particular, it will invest a total of at least €10m in Stirling Square Capital Partners III and Vendis Capital II, which held a first close of €125m in February. Stirling Square is a pan-European fund, whereas Vendis invests in consumer companies in Benelux and France.
Astorius is aiming to make three to five investments for the second fund-of-funds vehicle.
People
Thomas Weinmann, Julien Zornig and Frank Rohwedder are managing partners at Astorius Capital.
