
Arvato and SBI in €26.3m series-A for Solarisbank
Arvato Financial Solutions, the financial services arm of Bertelsmann Group, has partnered with Japanese financial services firm SBI Group to provide a €26.3m series-A round for Berlin-based banking platform Solarisbank.
Seed investors Finleap Hegus and Yabeo Capital also took part in the round.
As well as extra capital, Solarisbank will gain three extra board members, Roland Folz, Gerrit Seidel and Jan Becker. They will help to expand the banking platform and internationalise its client base and operations.

Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Berlin, Solarisbank is a licensed banking platform that allows companies to offer their own financial products. According to a press release, the company has brought 20 clients on board in its first year, including AutoScout24, Fashioncheque and various fintechs. It has so far passported its banking licence to six European countries and plans further expansion.
