EQT Ventures makes first investment with €5m Holidu series-A
Holidu, a German search engine for holiday rentals, has raised a €5m series-A from EQT Ventures, Venture Stars and angel investors.
With the fresh capital, Holidu plans to expand into new countries.
The funding round marks EQT Ventures' first investment. The new VC has not disclosed additional information yet, but unquote" understands it invests from a $500m fund and will be headquartered in Berlin. It is still in the process of building its team.
In July 2015, Holidu's competitor HomeToGo raised €6m in a funding round led by DN Capital and Acton Capital.

Founded in 2014 and based in Munich, Holidu is a price comparison platform for holiday homes. The company claims it scans and aggregates 3 million rentals from vacation rental websites. The startup has 20 employees.
