Halder's Aqua Vital acquires Revos
Aqua Vital, a German water cooler business backed by Halder, has acquired competitor Revos Watercooler.
Aqua Vital is understood to have mainly financed the acquisition internally. Banks were not involved in the transaction. Revos's managing directors took a stake in the newly formed group.
Halder bought Aqua Vital from fellow GP Aheim Capital in Q3 last year. The vendor, which had bought Aqua Vital in 2008 through a management buyout together with CEO Jürgen Linde, reaped a 2.4x gross money multiple via the sale.
Halder backed the 2013 management buyout via its fifth fund, Halder-Gimv Germany II. The vehicle closed on its hard-cap of €325m after just three months of fundraising in 2008, and currently holds seven portfolio companies.
Company
Founded in 1993, Munich-based Revos currently has an installed base of 15,000 bottled water coolers and also provides systems fed by water pipes. The company posted a €6m turnover last year.
Aqua Vital was founded in 1999 and is based in Neuss, Germany. The company manufactures and sells water coolers. Halder claims that Aqua Vital has a market share of around 40% in the bottled water cooler segment.
