Pinova buys management stake in Clarus Films
Munich based Pinova Capital has announced that it has bought a 65% stake in Clarus Films GmbH from previous managing shareholder Dr Sven Dracker.
The management buyout of the German packaging films manufacturer saw Dr Dracker sell his entire stake and move into an advisory role.
Marc Sinnecker and Markus Mondani have been appointed managing directors alongside existing managing director Thorsten Lang. They have also acquired a stake in the company.
Pinova typically invests between €3m and €15m equity in companies within a revenue bracket of €5m to €100m.
The firm plans to expand the company into a pan-European business through organic growth. It will also target global partners for product development and acquisitive growth remains a possibility for the future.
Debt
Debt has not been used in this transaction but will be used in the expansion phase of the business.
Company
Clarus Films was founded in Germany as the subsidiary of a French company in 1978. It has a turnover of €50m and employs around 100 staff.
It produces transparent plastic films that are primarily used for food packaging and are finished and sold by the company.
People
Joern Pelzer will represent Pinova on Clarus' advisory board.
